Ryno Built’s 2025 Toyota 4Runner Is Ready for Any Overland Adventure

Ryno Built’s 4Runner Stunner

The introduction of a new-generation fan-favorite vehicle can be a trying time. Toyota fanatics are currently going through this transition period, which started with the 2022 Tundra, then the 2024 Tacoma, and most recently the 4Runner, which was redesigned for 2025. Some owners of previous vehicle iterations may feel reluctant to embrace the change, while others run towards the overhauled platforms with open arms.

Ryno Liberman of Ryno Built is a proud member of the latter category. Ryno is a master builder of all types of vehicles, and he saw the release of the sixth-gen 4Runner as an opportunity to build one to the extreme. While embarking on a project revolving around a newly redesigned platform is an exciting undertaking, it presents the issue of non-existent parts. Luckily, Ryno interpreted that situation as a challenge, not a problem.

The first phase of the build focused on upgrading his 4Runner’s factory suspension. To do that, Ryno turned to Peak Suspension for 2.5-inch coilovers and shocks all around. CBI skid plates were then added to protect the undercarriage from harmful, unknown factors. The extra ride height provided more than enough space to run 17×8.5 Compression wheels from Icon Alloys and 35-inch Toyo Open Country A/T III tires to boot. In the case of an emergency, a full-size spare has been attached to the rear thanks to a Dirtcom TrailSwing tire carrier.

With the 4Runner riding higher, Ryno was then able to move onto the next portion of the process—outfitting the exterior with adventure-centric accessories. AlphaRex Nova headlights were the first aftermarket parts to find their way onto the Toyota. Next, CBI was sourced again, but this time for front and rear Covert SS bumpers. Since Ryno planned to hit the trails with his 4Runner, the front bumper was beefed up with Rhino USA recovery gear and a Warn Zeon Platinum winch with 12,000-pound synthetic rope.

Packing up essentials is highly important for any trip, and to help with that, Ryno ordered a Prinsu roof rack and quarter window side MOLLE panels that he affixed two 2-gallon RotopaX containers onto the driver side and a Pelican 1525 Air Case on the passenger side. Two Pelican 1750 long cases have been secured to the sides of the roof rack, a Zamp Solar 100-watt Obsidian panel was attached to the back, and Diode Dynamics lights were mounted facing forward. The factory Heritage Blue paint, which was also introduced by Toyota for 2025, is a killer built-in feature that gives Ryno’s 4Runner an edge straight out of the gate.

Ryno wanted to not only include all the necessary accessories inside of his 4Runner, but he also wished to focus on the overall presentation within the interior space. Of course, lighting can make or break any project, so he wired up a network of blue LED housings to give the cabin plenty of vibe. There are Lithium Battery Power (LBP) cells and accessories stored inside, along with a Redarc Manager30 unit that helps power the Snomaster fridge, ensuring that Ryno and his passengers can eat well no matter how far off the grid they are. Even miles away from the next nearest town, a Midland GMRS radio keeps Ryno in constant communication with civilization.

Even though the factory Toyota turbocharged 4-banger was capable enough to propel the 4Runner wherever it needed to go, Ryno upgraded its on- and off-road prowess with an aFe Power 3-inch exhaust and cold air intake, charge pipes, and Redline Tuning QuickLIFT hood struts for easy access to the engine bay.

In just three months, Ryno transformed his stock sixth-gen 2025 4Runner into a pack-leading off-road machine built for the long haul. While there were some hurdles to overcome along the way, Ryno did so with ease by working closely with cutting-edge manufacturers eager to promote existing products and to develop new ones for the fresh 4Runner platform.
