Well never fear, dash cams are no longer exclusive to recording the ridiculous things that happen on Russian roads, we have access to them now too. GRDIAN released the newest version of their dash cameras this past summer, the DEFENDR. It features an ultra-wide-angle lens, wifi connectivity, records in 2K and has optional GPS tracking. The wide-angle lens has a large aperture for nighttime recording and has a 160-degree view angle. GRDIAN wins our vote due to their high quality for the money, fantastic U.S. customer service and compatibility with both iOS and Android devices. At $139.99 (+$24.99 for the optional GPS adaptor), it’s a reasonable price for the quality and support you get. The package includes the camera itself, an adhesive and suction cup mount, car charger and a mini-USB data cable. The camera uses MicroSD cards up to 128GB in capacity. The video quality is crisp for both day and night recording and video transfer is as easy as plugging the MircoSD into your computer (MicroSD adaptor not included) or pulling the camera itself and transferring directly to your computer via the included mini-USB cord. Setup was as easy as picking the location, hiding the wire behind interior panels and plugging it in.
