The Demko AD20.5 ? It’s both and then some. Designed by Andrew Demko, the guy behind some of the toughest locking mechanisms in the game, the AD20.5 introduces his latest brainchild: the Shark-Lock®. And let me tell you, once you start flipping this thing open and snapping it shut, good luck putting it down. It’s like a fidget toy for grown folks who care about quality steel and rock solid builds. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Let’s get the basics out of the way: Clip Point vs. Shark Foot: Which Blade Shape is Right for You? This knife comes in two blade shapes Clip Point or Shark Foot. Both are made from 20CV, a premium steel known for its edge retention and corrosion resistance. It’s not the cheapest steel on the market, but it performs like you’d expect at the $390 price point. The Clip Point gives you a classic, versatile blade shape. Great for slicing, piercing, and general EDC tasks. The Shark Foot is more like a modified sheepsfoot excellent for controlled cuts and utility work. You can’t really go wrong with either; it just depends on how you use your knives. Demko AD20.5 Specifications: Blade Length : 3” (Clip) or 2.875” (Shark Foot) Blade Thickness : 3.2mm Steel : 20CV Handle : Milled Titanium , because plastic is for toys Overall Length : 7.625″ (Clip), 7.5″ (Shark Foot) Weight : Just over 4 oz for either one Made in : Taiwan Now, about that titanium handle this thing looks sleek, but don’t let that fool you. It’s not some dainty gentleman’s knife. It’s got just the right amount of heft, and while it’s on the thinner side (about 2/3 the thickness of a Chaves Street for comparison), once you get it in your hand, it feels solid. Not fragile, not gimmicky solid. Like something that’ll ride in your pocket for a decade and still be good to go. The Shark-Lock®: Andrew Demko’s Innovative Mechanism The action? Crisp. Fast. Fun. It runs on ball bearings, so opening it feels like it’s on rails. But the real star of the show is that Shark-Lock®. It sits up on the spine like a dorsal fin and works with a quick flick of your thumb or index finger. It’s intuitive, fast, and safe your fingers are never in the path of the blade while closing. Plus, it’s stupid fun to play with. If you like fidgeting with your knives, this lock will ruin other locks for you. Demko also thought about lefties here, which earns them bonus points. The knife comes with a right-handed pocket clip installed, but there’s also a left-handed clip included in the box. It’s a small touch that shows they’re not just cranking out knives they’re thinking about the folks who carry them. Final Thoughts: Is the Demko AD20.5 the Ultimate EDC Flipper? The AD20.5 is what happens when form, function, and a little bit of knife-nerd joy all collide. It’s premium but not pretentious, fun but not flimsy, and practical without being boring. It’s the kind of knife that earns its keep whether you’re cutting boxes, opening packages, or just clicking the lock back and forth like a grown up fidget spinner. If you’ve been eyeballing a premium EDC knife that stands out from the pack, this is it. American designed, built like a beast, and dangerously addicting to flip.
