Whether it is on the job, while fishing, skiing or biking, most people care about positive results. I am no different and find myself constantly looking for ways to improve Tread and its brand entities, whether its the products or the processes. I tend to be picky at times, with the idea and thought to release the best content possible, but when working on a team, I can not control everything—as much as I try—especially when faced with time restraints. While there is nothing wrong with striving for best results, there are also times I need to let go and be happy with how great things are and proud of all that we’ve done so far. It’s OK to strive for better, but it’s also important that we celebrate accomplishments. More specifically, when something is built on a great foundation, it’s easy to want to improve up on it to make it even greater—something we know well in the automotive aftermarket world. Enthusiasts of all kinds are always looking to improve upon the foundation of a great automobile, regardless of preference of type. Similarly, that preference most likely comes from an appreciation of the foundation brought about by that preferred auto maker. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The next time you look to add a bed rack, or modify the exhaust note or even make an obvious tire size, style or make change, don’t forget to appreciate what your vehicle offers at its foundation. I bought my 2010 GX460 in 2020 and thought I’d jump right into modifying it. Here I am, 2 years later and still have not done much more than switch out the wheels and tires and add a roof rack and a roof top tent. The GX has a wonderful foundation that I’ve grown to celebrate and appreciate. While I’ve been shopping around for the right parts for my build, I’ve still been able to take it on off-road adventures to plenty of places, proof of its strong foundation. Whether speaking about your vehicle or yourself, remember… Don’t be discouraged. Don’t let things get the best of you. Celebrate accomplishments. Appreciate where you’ve been and what you’ve done thus far while you set goals and strive for more. Happy trails, Kelly Nomura Editor & Brand Manager
