Modularity is Baja Designs’ Game

Baja Designs (BD) is well known in the off-road industry as being the leader of LED and laser lighting technology. Always at the forefront of design and pushing the limits of design and engineering, BD is—and has been—the only LED light manufacturer that designs its lights to run their LEDs at 100 percent output. Pound for pound, BD lights have the highest output and lowest draw of any setup available.

Those stats are great, but what about when it comes to a lifetime of abuse on the light? Well, BD thought that out, as well, and when they designed their newer Squadron, XL, OnX and LP9 series lights, they made sure that the end-user had the ability to replace reflectors and lenses on the fly to repair damage or switch light patterns and color. It works by using three separate replaceable components: the reflector, lens and bezel.

The bezel is the aluminum top piece that holds everything together and the part where screws pass through. BD offers three different types of bezels: round, square (pictured) and flush mount. Second is the lens, which is made of high-grade ballistic poly-carbonate. It is available in Spot, Wide, Driving, and Work patterns, as well as clear, yellow, blue red, green and infrared. Reflectors are based on usage and should be ran past the staff at BD to make sure they are chosen appropriately.

A rubber gasket on the lens seals everything in and makes sure your lights are free of dirt, dust and water for their lives. In less than five minutes, you can go from a wide pattern amber light to a white spot light, or fix a busted lens and get your vehicle up and running again.
