About the Magazine

Tread November/December 2021 brings a great span of diverse content with a variety of vehicle features, a mine adventure, opportunities to better educate oneself and commemorates those who have served our country. In this issue, the vehicle features honor those in the overlanding community who have served or currently serve in the military, including a wife who held down the fort to run an overlanding business while her husband was deployed.  Standout products and new gear are highlighted within the pages, including a cast iron skillet fit for gourmet outdoor chefs. Those restoring classic off-road vehicles will find helpful tips from regular contributor Jonathan Hansen, as he shares his experiences with updating his Land Cruiser FJ40. For those who enjoy wildlife photography, resident columnist Chris Collard lends his expertise of how to best capture the majestic beauty of the animals we live amongst. As a bonus, this issue comes with a 28-page bonus insert, sure to show you tips and tricks and new gear for your next adventure out on the trail.

Reviews

    Perfect
What keeps me coming back to Tread is how they focus on rigs that are actually used out on the trail. It’s not all about show trucks or over-the-top builds. I like reading about people’s actual travel setups and seeing what kind of gear works for them.
  2. Mike Harris says:
    Good
One thing I really enjoyed in the latest issue (Jan/Feb 2025) was the feature on winter camping tips and cold-weather overland gear. As someone who likes to get out even when the temps drop, it felt super relevant. The mix of gear reviews and real-world advice makes it easy to pick up something useful from every issue.
