About the Magazine

The July/August 2025 edition of Tread delivers a fresh dose of off-road adventure, wild custom builds, and essential gear for the overland crowd. Grabbing the cover is Keep on Cummins, Kevin Callaway’s sharp Dodge D250 Cummins prerunner—a clever, budget-friendly rig built to tackle any trail. Inside, you’ll discover The Magic School Bus, a dialed-in overland Chevy Colorado, and follow an unforgettable trek across Iceland’s rugged landscapes. This issue dives into standouts like Robe Disrobed, offering a fresh take on Australia’s famed beach run, plus Colten Stephen’s dream-built 1991 Land Cruiser. We also feature the trail-taming Sin City JKU Jeep and Legacy on Lock, a 4Runner turned family adventure machine. On the gear and tech front, we showcase From Kitchen to Pocket, a behind-the-scenes look at Liong Mah Designs and Eutektik knives, and bring you first-hand coverage from the debut Overland Expo Costa Mesa. Plus, readers will dig into hands-on installs like the Switch Pros Panel and learn how to master nighttime trails with smart lighting upgrades. This edition is packed with real-world insights, cool builds, and trail stories that keep the off-road spirit alive.

Reviews

    Perfect
What keeps me coming back to Tread is how they focus on rigs that are actually used out on the trail. It’s not all about show trucks or over-the-top builds. I like reading about people’s actual travel setups and seeing what kind of gear works for them.
  2. Mike Harris says:
    Good
One thing I really enjoyed in the latest issue (Jan/Feb 2025) was the feature on winter camping tips and cold-weather overland gear. As someone who likes to get out even when the temps drop, it felt super relevant. The mix of gear reviews and real-world advice makes it easy to pick up something useful from every issue.
