The design process usually doesn’t take that long—getting it into production and shipped is the time-consuming part. Fortunately for Andrew Williams from Duncanville, Texas, when he picked up his 2021 Ford Bronco, he already knew the plans to modify it in time for the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter The Bronco was brand new to the market at this time, so parts weren’t readily available like they are now. This created a delay in the starting process, but Andrew had built a previous vehicle for SEMA so knew the risk of time constraints. For those readers who have never dealt with a SEMA crunch, it can get pretty stressful. Just like in this case, having a commitment to display your vehicle in a booth at the largest automotive event in the world and not having any parts to even start the build can up anyone’s blood pressure. Luckily about a month before Andrew had to leave for the show, the parts slowly started showing up. This meant a mad dash for the finish with parts even being installed the day before the Bronco left for Las Vegas to debut in the TIS Wheels booth. Once Andrew got the Bronco to SEMA and was able to showcase his vehicle and show off the parts he was able to install in time before the show, the stress melted away. But little did he know, he would be doing it all over again and taking the Bronco back to the SEMA 2022 show—once again in the TIS Wheels booth. But this gave him a year to finalize the build the way he wanted it to look. The first year he took it to SEMA, he went with the big wheel/small tire look. With the Bronco being so new, most people compared it to the Jeep platform, so that didn’t go over so well. For the second time around, Andrew went with more of an off-road wheel and tire setup. Some will say being able to play with both styles gives a build like this the best of both worlds. Now that you know the backstory, let’s get into what all he did to make this vehicle as custom as he did. Knowing the stock suspension wouldn’t cut it for a SEMA build, Andrew had Cowboy Customs in Arlington, Texas, install the Belltech 4.5-7-inch lift kit, but wanting to be more custom, he decided to powdercoat the suspension Sherwin Williams Orange. This not only gave the vehicle more clearance, but it made it look good doing it. There is also a DV8 Offroad front skid plate to add some protection for the undercarriage. Now that there was more wheel gap, Andrew added some 20×10 TIS 556 wheels with black faces and orange outer rings to match the suspension. He wrapped the wheels in 37×12.50-20 Mickey Thomson Baha Boss tires for a meaty, off-road look. The first set of wheels mentioned before were a set of 26-inch TIS wheels, so this setup is a complete change of look. With the suspension set up correctly, it was time to make the exterior better than stock. The factory bumpers were swapped out for a front and rear set of DV8 Offroad bumpers for a more rugged look while the top half of the Bronco was wrapped in satin black with a brushed black strip to separate the black from the factory Carbonized Grey paint on the bottom half. A set of tubular DV8 Offroad side steps were also added along with multiple Quake LED lights front, rear and on the roof. Also on the roof, Andrew added a Thule Motion XL roof box and wrapped it in satin black and orange to bring the color theme to the roof. To help the stock 2.6L V-6 turbo engine run stronger, a Gibson Performance exhaust cat back was bolted on as well as a Wagner Tuning intercooler. For the cockpit of this rig, Andrew wanted to add a custom touch to tie it into the exterior, so he got up with RFS Motorsports and had them stitch together some custom black seats with orange stitching. But don’t worry, Andrew didn’t stop there with the interior—he also added a ton of audio inside. He took it over to the crew at Audio Anarchy and had them do a custom install with a whole stack of DB Drive speakers and amps. This includes two 6.5-inch Euphoria components, four 8-inch marine tower speakers, two 10-inch marine tower speakers, two 12-inch WDX subs, two 2500.1 amps, a 4000×4 amp, Euphoria processor and a Limitless 100ah lithium battery. Andrew says the audio set up is probably his favorite aspect of the build. Now that this Bronco is complete, well, complete after the second phase of the build was done, you can catch Andrew at shows all over Texas. You won’t catch this rig mobbing through the woods or a muddy field, this one was built strictly for show, so keeping it clean and show ready is a must. Andrew already has another Ford he’s building with SEMA plans so keep any eye out for it. It’s not a Bronco, but still a Ford.
