A full-service machine shop headed by two engineers, Hondo has their hands in a dozen different projects at any given time. Their most profitable product, though, is nothing more than an aesthetics upgrade for third generation Tacoma owners. Toyota has always been well known for building burley components that last well beyond their designed lifespan, but they are also well known for not necessarily putting the best aesthetic or performance into those same products. They work, and work well, but other aspects can be questionable. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Hondo comes in to save the day with one of the most touched portions of the vehicle, the radio. The factory Toyota knobs are smaller with thin walled plastic, not giving the tactile touch you were expecting, questioning its durability, and they are just too damn small to use while wearing gloves. While larger American trucks are built around the blue-collar worker and were laid out for glove clad winter laborers, the Tacoma was not. Hondo has machined these awesome replacement knobs for the radio that have a great machined “cog” edge to them and are enlarged over stock for a surefire grip. And the best part? They check in at only $25 and are made in Bozeman.
